CNI Desk: A total 3,049 Bangladesh Police personnel have so far recovered from Covid-19 across the country.
At least 282 police personnel, who earlier tested positive for Covid-19, have recovered in the last 24 hours, according to a Police Headquarters (PHQ) statement today.
Many of them have already returned to their duties to serve the nation, the statement read.
With the hospitals under the supervision of Bangladesh Police being equipped with better medical facilities for Covid-19 treatment, the rate of recovery from the disease among the police personnel has improved, the statement read.
Following different preventive measures to curb risk of Covid-19 spread among the policemen as directed by the Inspector General of Police Dr Benazir Ahmed, the rate of infection among the law enforcers has also come down, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, around 406 police personnel were infected with coronavirus across the country in the last 24 hours, making the total jump to 6,612, the statement said.
Among the infected officials, around 1,850 are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police alone.
Also, around 6,474 policemen are in quarantine and 2,032 others in isolation as they either show coronavirus-like symptoms or came in contact with Covid-19 patients.
A total 19 police personnel have so far died after being diagnosed with Covid-19 till June 8.
