CNI Desk: The bizarre synchronicity of Coronavirus pandemic predicted in Dean Koontz’s 1981 novel “The Eyes of Darkness”. Is that some deep information he knew? Or is that a simple coincidence? Or is it his prophecy? What’s the conspiracy behind his theory? Let’s find out!

The social media is revolving the news as the coronavirus pandemic evolved. Major highlighted lines of chapter 39 of the book buzzed and flooded the social media. Wondering whether it’s a simple coincidence or synchronized prophecy of Koontz.

The American author Dean Ray Koontz is famous for writing novels frequently incorporate the essence of suspense, horror, sci-fi, thriller, and fantasy.

In his bestselling thriller “The Eyes of Darkness”, he portraits a story about The Chinese Military lab.  The lab creates a deadly resistant virus as a part of their biological weapon program. In chapter 39, Koontz writes that the lab located in Wuhan, which created viruses named Wuhan 400.

The most interesting fact is, before Dean Koontz’s book’s Wuhan-400 went viral, scientists of Beijing sponsored the South China University of Technology said that –

“The killer coronavirus actually originated from a laboratory of Wuhan.”

Take a look at some intriguing lines direct from the book –

“Wuhan-400 is a perfect weapon. It afflicts only human beings. No other living creature can carry it. And like syphilis, Wuhan-400 can’t survive outside a living human body for longer than a minute, which means it can’t permanently contaminate objects or entire places the way anthrax and other virulent microorganisms can,” one character says.

“In around 2020, a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost most baffling than the illness itself will be a fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely.”

It sounds interestingly intriguing, bizarre and sensational, right? But the real fact is, these are probable similarities of coronavirus outbreak but are not completely the same. Like in the book the COVID-19 is called Wuhan-400 which origins (Wuhan, China) and timeline (2020) are correct. But the other facts like the incubation period of the virus are four hours in the book but in reality its seven days to two weeks.

The book shouts out dangerous symptoms as such – “Literally eats away brain tissue like battery acid dissolving cheesecloth.” But in reality check, the symptoms are only fever, cough and shortness of breath.

Another horror the thriller stated due to the certain pandemic the mortality rate would be 100% but scientists estimated the rate only 2-3%.

So there’s nothing to panic by reading such a wonderful fictional novel and social media outburst. We just need to focus on conscious prevention, cure, and treatment. We need to follow only authorized websites for clear information sources. We need to calmly accept the truth of nature – the unavoidable coronavirus pandemic. If symptoms appear we need to take treatments from genuine doctors & hospital quarantines.
